American warships passing through the Taiwan Strait
Two US warships moved through the Taiwan Strait for the first time since the visit to the island of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi earlier this month.
The three unnamed US officials on August 27 said that the navy cruisers of the country were Chancellorsville and Antietam who were making their journey through the international waters in the Taiwan Strait.

The activity was carried out in the context of escalating in the area after US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi visited the island on August 2-8.
Many American parliamentary delegations continued to visit the island, despite the anger reaction from China.
In recent years, US warships and sometimes allied nations like the UK and Canada often go through the strait, making Beijing angry.
Taiwan has been a hot issue in the bilateral relations US - China in recent years.
The United States committed to respect the principle of one China, but continued to maintain relations with Taiwan and provide the island of modern weapons.
